They both chose to defer their careers after college to serve with Teach for America, and were placed in the same D.C. elementary school. They became friends quickly, and apparently even their families knew that they would become more than that! The biggest proof of how important this city is to them, is the fact that just a few days after they moved away from D.C., they were willing to drive back for their engagement session!

We had no idea how special D.C. was to Savannah and Ty. We knew that they met in the city, but when they told us how they met and started dating, we understood.

Though we could tell they were a little nervous at first, Savannah and Ty quickly warmed up! They were soon strolling and snuggling their way around the Lincoln Memorial! Usually packed for sunsets, we had a perfect night with incredible light, and not many onlookers. It was so great to walk around and hear more about what this City means, to them and how their wedding planning has been going. Not to mention Savannah’s dad’s deep love for the farm where Hunter and I got married!
