FAQ
The "Simple Grad" session is photographed by Kelly, who was personally trained by Hunter and Sarah. While she doesn't have the 10+ years of UVa Grad photography experience that Hunter and Sarah have, she's a full-time professional photographer and has been our grad associate since 2021.
The "Simple Grad" session also typically yields fewer photos (50 images instead of 75-100+) and has a longer turnaround time (2 weeks instead of 1 week).
"Classic Grad" also includes print rights.
The prices you see above are for 60 minute sessions. However, you can add time on to any session! If you have more than 8 grads in your session with Hunter or Sarah, you will be required to add on additional time at checkout (or more than 6 with Kelly).
However, even a session with a single grad can add on as much time as they'd like! More time translates to more images, more locations, more poses, and/or more outfits. All sessions begin on the Lawn.
Of course! In fact, the more the merrier! You can use your hour however you'd like, whether that's a single grad, you and your partner, or a group of 8! You may just need to add on additional session time, depending on the size of your group (see the previous FAQ response about session length).
Of course, the more friends you bring, the less each person pays for the session as you split the cost!
All sessions with more than one grad will feature a mix of group and individual photos.
The best photos from the shoot will be selected, professionally retouched for light and color by Hunter and Sarah, and delivered to you via an online gallery.
However, we do not “photoshop” images (i.e. remove blemishes/flyaway hairs, remove people from the background, etc). We do our best to minimize that in-person instead!
Of course! In fact, we encourage you to post your grad photos on social media! We just humbly request a tag, so your friends will know who captured your amazing grad photos.
"Simple Grad" sessions include the right to download high-resolution images, and post them to social media. If you'd like to order prints, you can do so through your online gallery.
"Classic Grad" sessions include the right to download full-resolution images, and post them to social media. Print rights are also included, so you can print them from wherever you'd like.
If it looks like rain is in the forecast 1-2 days before your session, we'll reach out directly and work together to find a new time to schedule your grad session. Your payment is fully transferrable to the new date!
However, if you chose to cancel your session for whatever reason — even weather — the $50 retainer is nonrefundable.

Hello! We’re Hunter & Sarah — high school sweethearts and professional portrait and wedding photographers. We’ve been married since 2017, the same year that Hunter walked the Lawn! The only thing more important to us than making new friends and our weekly date night is our faith.
Since picking up our first camera more than 15 years ago, we’ve had a gift for making our clients feel confident and comfortable in front of our cameras. We deliver incredible images, but more importantly we give our clients an incredible experience every step of the way. Since 2016, we and our team have captured UVA grad photos for more than 1,300 fourth-years!

Although not a Wahoo herself, Sarah has certainly spent her fair share of time on the Lawn! Since she and Hunter dated all through college, she's no stranger to the 'Tundy. She is very much NOT a morning person, so is the go-to for evening grad sessions.

Hunter Sheldon
Kelly is a Charlottesville-based, full-time professional photographer who, alongside running her own photography businesses, has been mentored by Hunter and Sarah since 2019.
When it comes to UVA Grad Sessions, she's captured more than 100 sessions as Hunter and Sarah’s associate, after being trained to capture a similar aesthetic that grads have come to expect from Hunter and Sarah Photography for years! She's been guided by Hunter and Sarah — with posing, location selection, directing, and shooting — in all areas of graduation photography. She's also a UVA alumna herself!
Although she hasn’t captured the hundreds of UVA grad sessions that Hunter and Sarah have, her experience makes her a great option for grads who can’t afford the best-of-the-best, but still want a more premium experience with a full-time professional photographer!
