Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
One of the reasons that Sarah and I love photographing weddings is because of how encouraged we usually feel in our own marriage at the end of the wedding day. Despite the dozen hours straight on our feet, there’s just something special about hearing two people declare their intent to love each other – no matter what. I often leave wedding days fired up to continue to grow in the way that I love and care for Sarah. This Sunday afternoon, we received a double-dose of marital encouragement in the form of Janet and Greg’s 30th Anniversary Session. Simply from watching the way they danced and laughed with each other, the way they spoke to each other, and even the way Greg pushed Janet on their tree swing showed me that there is certainly hope for love and romance even after three decades of marriage.
Perhaps what gave Sarah and I the most hope and encouragement was to see how similar our relationship is to theirs. As we began “the sway”, one of our favorite and most dynamic poses, they joked with each other about dancing in their kitchen when no music is playing – one of Sarah’s all-time favorite pastimes. From an American-Dream perspective, Greg and Janet have it all: the beautiful home on several acres, a wonderful family, and a thriving small-business. But you can tell from the way that Greg and Janet talk about what they have that the two things most important to them are their faith in Jesus and the relationships with family and friends around them. They’re of course thankful for everything else, but they know what’s truly important.
We had such a great time getting to know you two better, and even getting to meet the rest of the family at the end of our session! Even having known Ethan and Tess for only a few months, we can tell that their passion for the Lord and integrity for what they do is something that they’ve learned from their folks. Our time together was an absolute joy, both during the photoshoot and touring your 1850s family home! We hope that these photos are a blessing to your marriage, and that the next 30 years are even better than the last!
With love,
Hunter + Sarah
