Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
The sun just couldn’t seem to make up its mind this past Saturday during Amanda and Jonathan’s engagement session. We were in a beautiful open field in front of Septenary Winery at Seven Oaks Farm. As we were explaining the posing for our next shot, the sun which up to this point had been as bright as… well… the sun, suddenly peeked behind some clouds right near the horizon. For one terrible instant, I was petrified that we had somehow wandered into a mythical horror land where the sun sets a half-hour before it’s supposed to. But once we realized it was just a cloud, we spun them around to face the other direction to take advantage of the softer light. We did our test shots, adjusted our camera’s settings and… the sun came back out. So we spun them around again, rinsed and repeated not once or twice but at least three times before we were finally able to get that one shot!
However, despite probably making Amanda and Jonathan very confused (and maybe a bit dizzy), we only have positive memories from our time together. We spent the afternoon getting to know them as a couple and hear all about their story. We heard about how they had grown up in the south and met at college in Tennessee, where they’d be getting married this October. We heard about Jonathan’s persistence as he pursued Amanda, and how she eventually gave him a shot. We even heard about their most recent vacation together – a Caribbean cruise – and how Jonathan got down on one knee on a balcony that overlooked the wide blue ocean.
We’re so glad that you two reached out to us, even though we won’t have the opportunity to photograph your wedding this fall. We’re also grateful that you were up for the adventure of trying out a totally new location for your photoshoot! We had a great time getting to know you both, and hope that you thoroughly enjoy these photos as you await your wedding day this October! In the meantime, we hope you won’t be strangers if you need anything here in town.
With love,
Hunter + Sarah
