Sunset Engagement Session at Barboursville Vineyards

When Dionysus and Michael told us that they were big wine enthusiasts, we knew right away that their engagement session would be at one of the many vineyards in the Charlottesville area (we do live in Virginia Wine Country after all). However, we couldn’t have been more excited when they chose Barboursville Vineyards as the location for their Spring engagement session! Not only is Barboursville a beautiful vineyard with great wine, but the UVA nerd in Hunter really comes out when he knows we’ll be working in proximity to their “Jeffersonian Ruins” – a house designed by America’s third president for the then owner of the estate. Personally, I’m more excited about the beautiful backdrop they provide for our engagement sessions and weddings!
Either way, we were both over the moon when we arrived at the Ruins this past Sunday to find Dionysus (whose friends call her Dee) and Michael already there and all styled up! As soon as we got into action, we saw that Dee and Michael were a couple who loved to joke with each other and were just as likely to share a laugh as a glass of fine wine. Though they insisted multiple times that the only photos they’d ever been in were selfies, as we instructed them through some of our posing, they modeled like they had done it a hundred times before!

We’re so excited that you two have chosen us as your photographers for your wedding day this fall. After only 90 minutes together this weekend we already know two things about your wedding day: it’s going to be an incredibly fun and beautiful day, and if the stories you told us about your friends are true, it might get a little crazy 😉 But either way, we already love the images from your engagement session, and know that more fun times are ahead. Have a great rest of your spring and summer, and we’ll see you in October!
