Charlottesville Family Session at Carter Mountain Orchard

It’s Christmas in April! Although that sounds like an odd statement, Ali’s mom actually purchased her family session for her and Andrew and their baby Evelyn back in December as a Christmas present. When Christmas morning came along, Ali and Andrew unwrapped out Portrait Session Style Guide and a promise that we’d fit them into our calendar once the Spring came around! With Evelyn’s first birthday just around the corner, this past weekend at Carter Mountain Apple Orchard made for the perfect family session.
When Ali and Andrew first arrived, Evelyn was not too excited about meeting Sarah and I. But honestly, we can’t blame her – she had been napping a few minutes before. We feel you, girl. But after a few minutes of chatting and introducing her to our cameras, she warmed right up. Sarah and I even got to practice our one-handed photographing as we held her toys and music-makers around our lenses to get her to look at our cameras! By the end of the session, she had warmed up to us so much, she barely even noticed when Mom handed her off to Sarah so that her parents could get a few quick photos of the two of them!

We’re so glad that we were able to meet you and the newest addition to your family this weekend! It seriously made our day when you told us that unwrapping the Style Guide was your favorite part of Christmas morning. It sounds like you two have a bit of a crazy summer ahead as Ali finishes up medical school and your small family moves to Pennsylvania, so we hope that you’ll always cherish these photos as you look back on this whirlwind time in your lives! We know from experience with all our other families that Evelyn won’t be little for very long, and these photos will serve as a wonderful reminder of the first year of her life here in Virginia 🙂
