Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
Charlotte and Clay had just finished their first look at Historic Polegreen Church in Richmond. They stood beneath the simplistic yet breathtaking structure, only a few feet separating them as they faced each other. They both had a short letter in their hands that they had painstakingly written over the days leading up to their wedding. Then, in one of the most intimate and genuine moments that Hunter and I had ever been a part of during a wedding day, Charlotte and Clay read their weddings vows to each other. They were brief, but incredibly powerful promises. They were rooted in Scripture, yet deeply personal. As Clay read, Charlotte, overwhelmed with emotion, began to cry, which made Clay begin to tear up. By the time they embraced at the end of their vows, they both stood with tears streaming down their faces.
Throughout the day, Charlotte and Clay made time for other quiet, simple, yet profoundly intimate moments like this one. Charlotte got ready at the home of a family friend – a home that had once stood on the same property as the historic church before being relocated. Clay spent a quiet (although Hunter informs me quite hilarious) morning with his best man and groomsmen taking turns attempting to tie Clay’s tie just right. Before their ceremony began, they were both surrounded by their closest friends as they prayed over them one final time as two single people who would very soon become one married couple.
We are so grateful for the opportunity we’ve had to get to know you two better throughout the wedding-planning process. Your mountainous engagement session last month gave us a glimpse into your personalities and relationship, but we feel grateful to have gotten to know you two so well during the intimate moments we captured on your wedding day. We hope that your road trip through Maine has been the perfect mix of adventurous and relaxing that we know you two are looking for, and that your marriage here in the US and abroad is everything you’ve hoped for!
With love,
Sarah + Hunter
