The sun was just beginning to set over the mountains at the Market at Grelen during Heather and Tyler’s summer evening Engagement Session. We were coaching Heather and Tyler through a few dancing photos when Heather very sweetly and politely informed us that she had more than a dozen years of ballet experience. What were WE doing coaching HER?! Once we knew that, we did our best to incorporate some additional motion and fluidity into their images, while still maintaining our classic, intimate and joyful style.

 

We’ve also learned something else about Heather and Tyler these last few months. Their relationship story is SO similar to ours, we literally thought they had read our Remember that Time Blog Series and were messing with us when they first told us! They’re high school sweethearts who started dating right before the homecoming dance and never looked back. More than a half-dozen homecomings and proms later, they were off to college where they continued to date until now, fresh out of college, they’re ready to tie the knot here in C’ville. If that wasn’t already close enough, we found out during their engagement session that our relationships began barely three weeks apart!

It wasn’t just our stories that struck us as being similar. The way you two goofed around, joked with each other and with us made Hunter and I feel right at home. Our time together was, of course, beautiful – it’s hard to beat a summer sunset at Grelen’s Bloomfield venue. But it was also genuinely fun. We are so glad that the four of us connected — and on such short notice — and that we’ll have the opportunity to capture even more fun-filled moments like these this fall. We will certainly see you very soon!
