While there’s — of course — no such thing as a perfect wedding day, Lindsey and Adam’s September wedding at The Farm at Glen Haven was likely as close as could possible to their idea of a perfect day. Their friends and family gathered around, no special item went missing, no groomsmen were lost, the weather was a brisk 68 degrees (basically the first day of cool weather in Virginia this year), the wildflowers were in bloom, and the entire day ran a few minutes ahead of schedule. And of course, from a photographic perspective, the overcast skies provided the softest, most dreamy light imaginable.

 

But something that stood out to Sarah and I throughout the day was just how much fun Lindsey and Adam had. From the moment we arrived, everyone seemed at ease and appeared to really be enjoying themselves. Lindsey and Adam hardly needed an ounce of encouragement to smile at any point during photos – they were ear-to-ear every time we looked at them! And of course, once the reception started, this overwhelmingly young and energetic crowd hit the dance floor (and adult bounce-house) like there was no tomorrow! And of course, what better way to end a day than a sparkler exit turned SURPRISE FIREWORK SHOW?! We’re sure your guests were really blown away by that one!

It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year since we first met, but barely a month since your breathtaking National Park Engagement session. That night, between the hiking, the session, and the dinner and drinks that followed, we were stoked to have two new friends! We know that between Adam’s military service and Lindsey’s wanderlust, the years of marriage ahead are going to bring you to some incredible places. We can’t wait to fly out and visit and capture yet another chapter in your love story! We hope — or rather we know — that you’ll keep in touch 🙂
