Laren thinks of herself as “awkward in front of the camera”. She told us herself many times. And honestly, this is something we get from almost every single couple we photograph! At some point during the process – whether during the initial wedding consultation meeting or in the weeks leading up to the engagement session – either the bride or the groom (or both) informs us of how they “hate taking pictures” or “are so awkward in photos”. And Sarah and I politely smile and reassure them that they don’t have to worry about that.

 

We hope that these photos show why we say that. Over the years, we’ve figured out how to get those genuine smiles and those sweet moments, even from the kings and queens of “I hate how I look in photos” 👑 And Laren and Dan were no exception! These college sweethearts were dancing and giggling in front of our cameras before they knew it, and we feel like these photos are such a sweet reflection of their love!

We’re SO glad that we ran into you at a coffee shop back in January, and that you overheard us chatting with another couple about their wedding! We’re also so happy that you two have been so flexible with everything happening, and that we’ll be able to capture your intimate elopement next month! Until then, we hope these photos are a little hold-over for the marriage that’s oh so close!
