Unlike most of our couples who choose to have their engagement session captured on UVA’s Lawn and in the Gardens near the Rotunda, Ana and Antonio had no connection whatsoever to the University. They simply took our list of pretty places around Charlottesville for photos, and met us “on grounds” for their engagement session this past weekend! As always, we made it our goal not to showcase the backdrop as the star of the show, but to use their  location to compliment the love story that was taking place right in front of our lenses. Though environment is important, it’s only a tool and an accent, not the headliner!

 

As we walked around the Lawn with them, it wasn’t difficult to tell their story with images. The way Ana and Antonio looked at each other and snuggled up with ease made our job so easy! And with a soft layer of clouds just barely veiling the sunset, there was no shortage of smooth, even light. You just can’t beat golden hour portraits with a wonderful couple like these 😍

It was so great to meet you two this past weekend! We hope that the session didn’t turn out too UVA for you 😂 We know that we could certainly feel the affection you two share for each other while we led you around the Lawn! And we’re sure it came through in these images. As you continue to plan your wedding in a hectic and crazy world, we hope that these images are a reminder of what it’s all about!
