This was Jessie and Gary’s second attempt at an engagement session with Sarah and I. Just a few weeks ago, we got a call from Jessie about 90 minutes before their scheduled engagement session. They were about an hour away — halfway between their new home in Northern Virginia and Charlottesville — when their truck gave out. The session had to be scrapped and thanks to social distancing practices, the tow truck couldn’t even bring them home alongside their car. Needless to say, it was a bit of a rough day!

 

The good news, however, is that our second attempt at getting together went off without a hitch! Blessedly, the hot temperatures were partially staved off by a soft bank of clouds, and the spacious rolling hills of the Boar’s Head property were as vacant as always. And we loved getting to hear more of their story as we led them through their engagement session! Our former Wahoo (Jessie) met the former Hokie (Gary) at work, although it wasn’t exactly love at first sight. While working late one evening on a project, the concept of them being more than friends was raised, to which Gary responded “Yeah… It’s never gonna happen.” Thankfully for them, he was very wrong!

We’re so glad that this engagement session was such a ray of sunshine in what’s been an otherwise difficult time. We know just as well as you guys do the difficulty of buying a new house and jumping right into renovations. We can’t possibly imagine trying to do that while also planning your wedding – not to mention the global pandemic! You two have been such troopers throughout the process, and we hope that these images are a reminder of why it’s all worth it. We can’t wait to chat more soon!
