Laughter-Filled Engagement Session at Boar’s Head Resort in Charlottesville

Joanna and Brady have that perfect balance of encouragement and sarcasm that will undoubtedly make for a successful marriage π They were just as quick to joke with each other as they were to lovingly joke on each other, which means I could (thankfully) save my bad jokes for another day. As we shot their engagement session around Boar’s Head Resort, they had no trouble making each other laugh! If you just meet Brady briefly, he would likely come off as the wise and pensive architect — which he certainly is! But the more you get to know him, the more his inner goofball comes out!
Joanna is no different – full of equal parts grace, beauty, and savagery. There’s no doubt that her confidence and charm is what won Brady over in college, as they found themselves in the same friend group during their time in undergrad. They also bonded over being sporty and athletic people, which came out in a way we had never seen before during an engagement session! They brought a Spikeball set with them, and set it up to play together! If that’s not brining a prop totally unique to your relationship, we don’t know what is π€£

Our time together last week was truly a joy. In all our years as photographers and after hundreds of portrait sessions, you were the first to offer to pray for us at the end of the session. Recent events have upended the world for so many people, and things have been especially nuts for self-employed business owners in the wedding industry like us. Your prayers were an encouragement to us both, and also revealed a glimpse at your wonderful hearts underneath your equally wonderful faces π Whatever happens this September, whether your wedding is full-sized or a micro-wedding, we can’t wait to see you guys again and walk alongside you on your wedding day!
