Maternity and Family Session at the Rotunda on UVA’s Grounds

Hunter and I don’t shoot very many family sessions anymore, which is one of the reasons why the few sessions we do shoot are so special to us. But even more than that, we’ve been on a photographic journey with Morgan and Blake and their growing family over the years. Back in 2016, Blake flew back a few weeks early from a year-long ministry program in North Africa to surprise Morgan. Hunter was hiding in the bushes nearby to capture their surprise proposal! Then, in 2018, we had the pleasure of capturing their maternity AND newborn sessions as they welcomed baby Eden into the world. Now, another two years later, we’re with them again as they prepare the way for baby girl number two!
The last time we had Eden in front of our camera, she was barely a week old. Now, this young and confident 18-month old was full of personality! She didn’t like smiling, except when her dad threw her up in the air! She did, on the other hand, love exploring. Like most toddlers, we had to make a LOT of noise to keep her attention long enough to capture a few shots. Otherwise, she just wanted free of her parents’ arms to go exploring! We used those breaks to make sure we also captured a few photos of Morgan and Blake with their hands on Morgan’s belly. We know their so excited to meet their new baby girl next month!

We’re so grateful for you two as friends, and always look forward to the opportunity to capture your beautiful family! We know that things haven’t exactly been easy for you both lately. Being campus pastors during a global pandemic is neither safe nor easy, and we admire the way you two are continuing to serve college students at UVA in the midst of this craziness. We also know that having a baby right now probably feels scarier than ever, but you two were as cool and casual as ever. Know that we’ll be praying for you two this next month, and can’t wait to meet your new little girl!
