One of the things we enjoy most about our job is the relationships we’re able to build with our couples. Even though we had never captured a deaf-hearing couple before last weekend, we knew going into our session with Cassie and Andrew that we were going to bond easily with them! Most of the time, as we guide our couples into flattering posing, we show them by example — Hunter and I will just snuggle in the same way we want them to! Luckily, the lack of verbal instruction didn’t hinder us much in that area! Not that Cassie and Andrew needed much help… These two were giggling and dancing their way through the fields as though we were in their own backyard!

 

What we couldn’t show with our bodies, Cassie read from our lips or got a quick ASL translation from Andrew. Speaking of ASL, Andrew shared with us during their engagement session that he had spent the last year or so learning sign language to communicate with Cassie – from Cassie! These two have literally grown their love across a language border! This tri-lingual couple — they are both fluent in Spanish and English — is nothing short of inspiring!

Thank you both for your patience with us during your engagement session! You were both an absolute joy to work with, and we are SO disappointed that we aren’t available to also capture your wedding day this fall! We hope that these photos will bless your relationship as you two dance your way into marriage later this year! We hope to see you guys again soon.
