Over the last few years, we’ve noticed an increasing trend in the number of our couples who met online – especially over the last 12 months in the world of COVID lockdowns. Of course, we’ve had couples before who met as kids, in college, at bars, and even at weddings. But Kelly and Liam are definitely our first couple to have met on a boat! To be more specific, they met aboard a Coast Guard cutter which — Kelly and Liam confirmed for me — is in fact a type of ship. When they weren’t making nautical drug busts, they were apparently getting to know each other during their time on that ship!

If that weren’t interesting enough, Kelly and Liam also have a really unique pairing of skills. Kelly is finishing up Law School, and Liam is a Brewmaster and owner of Rip Rap Brewing Co., a local brewery in Norfolk, VA! We have worked with over 100 couples as wedding photographers, but they’re also our first lawyer-brewery-owner team! Of course, the business-owner in Liam couldn’t help but grab a few photos with their “products” at the end of the session!

It was so fun bringing you two to one of our favorite (and relatively unknown) shooting locations earlier this month, and getting to know you two better as a couple! We know that neither studying for law school finals nor running a small business in the time of public reopening are easy, so we hope that these photos serve as a reminder of your love, and will hold you over until next September! We hope to see you both again very soon!
