Lauren and Laverne told us they were dancers almost as soon as we first met them. After all, they met through a swing dancing club here in Charlottesville! So, when it came to their engagement session on the Blue Ridge Parkway, we were more than ready to see their moves! Lauren pulled out her phone and began played an old 50’s big band song. And they got right into it! In the parking lot of the overlook, we captured Lauren and Laverne’s swing dance. As they moved fluidly through the steps in a surprisingly photogenic dance, it was so much fun to capture!

With their wedding coming up in barely a month, we were able to talk about the details of their wedding between dance moves. Most importantly though, we were able to give them a brief reprieve in the midst of hectic wedding planning. An engagement session is purely about capturing their love! Being able to step away from it all and just enjoy each other’s company (and a pretty sweet view) seemed to be just what Lauren and Laverne needed!

H haven’t stopped singing that song since your session! It was so much fun to capture you two doing something you both love with the person you love most! We absolutely cannot wait to see more at your wedding, both during portrait time, and out on the dance floor!
