Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
We probably made three different calls regarding Arlene and Ben’s Blacksburg engagement session before we finally made a decision. No rain in the forecast, let’s shoot! Wait, 70% chance of thunderstorms?! Let’s look at dates next month. Wait, chance of rain dropped to 15% in the last hour?! In the end, Arlene and Ben decided that it was go time! We hopped in our car on just an hour’s notice, and drove down to Heritage Community Park in Blacksburg, VA. But knowing how bad weather forecasts can be, we came prepared and were ready for anything!
It was lightly raining when we arrived, but after a handful of under-umbrella shots, the rain quickly let up! We’re sure that it was Arlene and Ben’s bright moods that kept the rain away. They showed us around the beautiful trails of Heritage Community Park. And Ben kindly warned us about the dangers of tripping on one of the many black walnuts that severely sprained his ankle once before — when Arlene was in the middle of her Bar exam! Much like the rainy-day engagement session, they got through it together and laughed about it with us!
We are so glad you guys decided to go ahead with the session. And you guys were totally unphased and fearless when the rain really started coming down at the start of our session! The result is a truly unique set of engagement photos that will take you right back to the session! We hope that they fill you two with joy (and anticipation) in the months leading up to next July!
With love,
Sarah + Hunter
