Same-Sex Summer Engagement Session on the National Mall

While we waited for Gwen and Miriam to find us in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC we weren’t sure what to expect. Gwen had hired us for their engagement session even before she had proposed to Miriam last month, so we knew expectations would be high. Plus, we knew that they would have their 11-month old puppy with them, which can always add an extra level of complication to even the best of sessions! Throw in the 90+ degree July heat, and it was a recipe for a difficult evening. However, we found that to be far from the truth ????
Self-proclaimed “not fancy people”, Gwen and Miriam decided to wear the matching tank tops that Gwen had purchased for them on the day she asked Miriam to marry her! And for their second outfit, another casual look, the type of thing they might wear out to dinner or to hang with friends. And even though Maya was excited by all the new friends around, she walked and sat about as well as you can expect from a puppy ???? And the heat? Well, Gwen and Miriam barely seemed to notice as they snuggled their way across the Constitution Gardens and the Lincoln Memorial.

It was so fun finally meeting you two! You two were troopers embracing the heat and the crowds this past Tuesday, and we hope that these images and the dozens more to come are a blessing to you two during this season of engagement!
