Towards the end of their session, Melissa and Jon asked us to take a polaroid of them. Apparently, they take one whenever they go anywhere special, and wanted their summer engagement session at Waterpery Farm to be a part of that Polaroid collection! Now, some photographers might have been offended at the prospect of putting such a crude tool alongside ~our precious imagery~. But not us! This simple request told us so much about them. The desire to capture a keepsake and to freeze a memory in time is literally what we do for a living! And seeing them strive to capture these memories also let us know that they’re looking to create some pretty awesome meories.

During their engagement session at Waterperry Farm, we also learned what big animal lovers they are! We knew there was a cat on the property at Waterperry Farm. We had seen it once or twice. But we have never had a couple be trailed wherever they went by the cat! They would pet and coo at the cat in such a natural way, and this cat definitely knew that Melissa and Jon were it’s kind of people! 😂 Watching how loving they were with each other (and this cat) showed us their natural hearts for others. We can learn so much about our couples in the little things, and our time with Melissa and Jon showed us that these two are the kind of people you want to get to know.
