The only downside to an Indian-American fusion wedding weekend is that at the end of the weekend, the party does eventually have to end! After spending two whole days with Laura and Kunal and their families, we feel like we really got to know everyone. Beginning with the Indian ceremonies, it was such a joy to see Kunal’s family invite Laura’s family in, walking them through what to do. From grabbing Kunal’s shoes during the Hindu ceremony, to dancing together in the sangeet, we could see the two families laughing and growing even closer!

 

Cut to day two, and while some people might lose steam over a two day Indian-fusion wedding weekend, this crowd certainly did not! As the day went on, we learned something that told us everything we needed to know about these two. They had unfortunately found out that the day before, Laura’s grandfather had had a medical emergency and was unable to make it to their Indian festivities. So late Friday night, Laura and Kunal left their wedding and went to the hospital to visit him together. After a long, high-energy day, and amidst a weekend that was ostensibly all about them, for them to make that effort to include him shows the depth of familial love they both have. And we’re sure it made the weekend even sweeter!

What a whirlwind! We have loved getting to know you both better these last couple of months and we hope these memories will continue bless you two for the rest of your lives! We feel so privileged to have been a part of your amazing wedding team, and hope to see you two again the next time you’re visiting Charlottesville!
