Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
When we were first approached about photographing a New Year’s Eve wedding in Downtown Charlottesville… we were hesitant. It takes a certain personality to pull off a wedding that that doubles as a NYE party. But as soon as we met with Gillet and Jon over video chat, we were IN! Their energy and they dynamic they share is contagious, and we knew that a party with them would be the perfect way to kick off our 2025. This feeling was confirmed as we strolled around the Downtown Mall for their engagement session. Jon had a constant flow of “hellos” from friends — plus a sneak peek into the dance floor with him and Gillet!
While the dance floor and party was an absolute blast, there was one moment that sticks out in our memory. No one wants it to rain on their wedding day. And while it completely poured all that morning, everyone was thrilled when the rain began to let up. But there was a surprise for Gillet once the clouds cleared. As she looked out the window, a rainbow appeared and tears filled her eyes. “That’s my dad!” she exclaimed. When we heard Jon ask Gillet about it, we knew that this was one of those perfect surprise moments that make wedding days so special.
We honestly loved spending this time with you two during your New Year’s Eve wedding! From rehearsal portraits behind the scenes at Three Notch’d to dancing after dark on the downtown mall, we’ve had so much fun with you two. You’re are such a wonderful blend of fun and sentimentality, that it was such a joy to capture you and your day! We hope that these images bless you both as you continue and laugh, cry, and dance together for many years!
With love,
Sarah and Hunter
