As we turned down the back alley for Carson and Travis’ Alley Light Engagement Session, we remembered just how hidden this Charlottesville gem is. Off the Downtown Mall, wedged between plumbing pipes and trash cans is one of Hunter and I’s favorite restaurants in town. No signage. No fanfair. Just a wooden door and a single light to tell you that you’re in the right place! Luckily, Carson and Travis already knew where Alley Light is – and love it just as much as we do! When they asked about an Alley Light Engagement Session with lifestyle vibes, we were immediately excited. A classic date night spot for ourselves, we were thrilled about the idea of capturing a session in one of their (and our) favorite places.

Trying to be as low-key as possible as to not disturb their fellow patrons, we marveled at how quickly Carson and Travis settled into a new situation. With some very simple guidance, they were so natural! Soon after, we transitioned to the Boar’s Head for the second half of their session. Carson and Travis continued to snuggle into each other with a grace that can only come from being completely comfortable with another! Travis told us he knew he wanted to marry Carson after a rained-out walk with their dog showed him how easy and fun life could be with Carson. And their session really showcased how truly easy they are with each other!
