Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
As the vintage limo pulled away from Keswick Vineyards last Saturday evening, Hunter and I took a long, deep breath. It was bittersweet to see the end of a day as incredibly gorgeous as Christy and Matt’s. And after capturing their surprise proposal last summer, their desert engagement session in Phoenix, Arizona, and now their incredible autumn wedding, this was truly the end of a journey with Christy and Matt. We had a lot of feelings and experiences to process 😂 From the sheer joy and emotion of Christy and Matt’s first look to the hilarious speeches from their most important people, we could feel the love that surrounded these two all day long. We know from experience that you can learn a lot about a person by they way they treat others, and after a long journey to their wedding day, Christy and Matt took the time to appreciate everyone who was there – from family and friends, to their vendors!
Despite having planned most of their wedding in the world of COVID-19, these two let nothing stand in their way. In the days leading up to their wedding, Christy and Matt sent COVID test kits to all of their guests — return shipping and testing included — so that they could gather together on October 24th as safely as possible! A new personal favorite quote of mine is what Christy’s grandmother said to Christy after she told her grandmother how happy she was that she was there: “I’m just glad to be anywhere!” This lighthearted joy and candor was prevalent throughout Christy and Matt’s day, and we know that having their closest friends and family all together made it worth all the heartache and turmoil.
While we waited for you two on the lawn of the law school before Matt proposed, we never could have imagined just how close the four of us would all become. Throughout this process we know that we’ve gained two new friends that we are so blessed to have! Photographing every step of your journey has truly been an honor — and so much fun! You guys are so kind and loving to everyone in your lives, but having watched your first look, we know that this love stems from a deeply rooted relationship that you two hold with each other, and with God. We hope that these photos serve as a blessed reminder of the day when you two finally joined hands in marriage — and can hold you over on your fill of Charlottesville until you find yourselves back in town!
With love,
Sarah + Hunter
