Like 99% of the couples that we capture, Kendall and Dan were a little uneasy when we first met them for their engagement photoshoot. Thankfully, one of the unique things about using Blackrock Summit as an engagement session location is the 10-minute hike (walk) to the summit that gives us a chance to get to know our couples a bit better before we start. We connected on being high school sweethearts; they met in freshman history class, and Hunter and I met running cross country my senior year. We also realized that one of Hunter’s best friends since they were 12 not only went to school with Kendall and Dan, but Dan had worked together on their capstone engineering project! Talk about a small world!

But beyond just connecting over some of our similarities and shared friends, it was so wonderful to watch Kendall and Dan get used to being in front of our cameras so quickly! As most couples do, they started off feeling a bit uneasy about smiling for us or standing in certain poses for the photos. But we watched them get more comfortable and confident in themselves as the minutes passed! It also didn’t hurt that Kendall was a picture of go-with-the-flow, bohemian beauty. And Dan, the ever-caring fiancé just went along with whatever Kendall needed!

It was so great to finally meet you two in person! It was so easy to carry a conversation and just chat with you guys. You two were the perfect blend of easy-going and adventurous, and we just know you guys are going to love these images because of that! We know that these images will mean so much to you two as you celebrate your engagement – at least until you get a new set of photos next fall!
