Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
We absolutely love when our soon-to-be grooms ask us to help plan their proposals! There is something so wonderful about a surprise – some people love the applause and attention, while others want it to be more personal and intimate. Alex gave us a real challenge when he asked about proposing to his girlfriend on the Blue Ridge Parkway, while also trying to keep it intimate. Apparently, Alex’s girlfriend Natalia is very shy and hates attention, so Alex wanted to make sure it was a surprise that was both special, and relatively private. In the Fall in Virginia, that can be a little tricky along one of the most beautiful drives in the Commonwealth! Thankfully, Alex had another location in mind.
As we pulled into the parking lot, we were blown away by the incredible view Alex had selected! Not only was there an incredible view, there were also a very limited number of people present! Compared to Raven’s Roost, one of our other go-to locations on the Parkway that can have dozens of people, this was paradise. When Alex and Natalia pulled up, there were only two other people at the location! Alex pulled the decoy cooler out, they walked down to the pre-determined spot, and Alex proposed! This location was already special to Alex and Natalia, and even more so now!
It was an absolute joy to be a part of your proposal story! We are so glad Alex found and planned with us, and we are absolutely thrilled that we could capture so many moments of you two immediately after. Natalia, you were so brave to walk into a session with total strangers after such an exciting moment. We hope that these photos are something you both will treasure for years to come!
