Lisande and Mike don’t take themselves too seriously, which makes them incredibly fun (and easy) to spend time with. Although we’re no strangers to Richmond by any means, Belle Isle was a brand new photoshoot location for Sarah and I. So as we explored the many different features of the small island, we chatted and joked with Mike and Lisande the entire time. It was their levity and willingness to explore that kept us all in high spirits during that warm May evening!

 

And boy did we explore – as you can probably tell from the photos, we took advantage of every type of scenery possible on such a small island. We interacted with the rusting remains from the early 20th century power complex that used to call the island home. We snuck away to a secluded sandy beach along the James River. We had Mike romantically twirl Lisande beneath the massive and modern interstate overpass as cars rushed by overhead. And we finished the session at sunset on the iconic rocky Belle Isle beaches. And Lisande and Mike smiled and posed and laughed their way through it all!

Thank you guys so much for being flexible as we settled on a date and location during this busy season for all of us! With school finishing up, we know that you’re in the midst of standardized testing Lisande, and we’re grateful that you were willing to add this session to an already busy teacher’s schedule! We had a blast getting to know you two even better during our time together last weekend, and cannot believe that your wedding is only four weeks from today! We cannot wait!!
