We knew that Oona and Sawyer had a Bernese mountain dog before their session, but it wasn’t until we heard Lily’s bark from the backseat that we understood what that meant. She poked her head up towards the front seat and we could see that she was a big, fluffy girl! Maybe Hunter and I are just used to smaller dogs, but watching Lily walk around with her fluffy self was a wonder for us. Still technically a puppy, it was awesome watching Oona and Sawyer interact with her. She is absolutely obsessed with them, yet she was so well behaved! Whether it was sitting still when we needed her to sit, or looking at the camera for her close ups, she was the best.

As for Oona and Sawyer, they are a dream. Walking around with them felt so natural and easy. An engagement session — especially one where your bernese mountain dog is waiting in the car — can feel like a lot of pressure. But these two were so laid back! There were a couple times where we forgot we were working and not just out with some good friends! Luckily we remembered and took some pretty incredible portraits too 😉. We even got a few of them with Lily with the most incredible view! A perfect family portrait for this season of their life.

We had such a great time with you both! We have absolutely loved running into Oona around town, and hope that we can hang out with both of you soon, just without our cameras!
