Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
The fact that Blackrock Summit is consistently 15-20 degrees cooler than Charlottesville is a huge plus during our scorching summer months. However, our first session at this scenic location of the fall somehow caught Hunter and I off-guard. The wind seemed to literally whip through every single layer of clothing we had on. And when we climbed from the main path onto a rock scramble, the wind only got stronger. I was immediately concerned for Stephanie and Andrew in their short-sleeve dress and light button-up shirt. However, these two New England natives seemed completely un-phased by the chilling fall wind that whipped through the mountains during their session! This just gave Stephanie and Andrew even more of a reason to cuddle in nice and close!
One phrase we haven’t heard in a while is “unlimited texting.” This throwback phrase is a part of Stephanie and Andrew’s story, and how they started dating over a decade ago when families had to worry about how many texts they could send each month (anyone else remember those days?)! Andrew asked Stephanie if she had unlimited texting when they were in high school through a Facebook message and we’re pretty sure he invented sliding into the DMs right then and there! We absolutely love hearing other stories from couples who started dating in high school, and learning about how they stayed together through college, despite going to different colleges, and are planning their wedding in the middle of a pandemic, from a different state!
You guys are absolute troopers – we did not hear you complain once about the wind during our time together last week. You two seemed to focus on all of the fun of the session instead! We loved listening to you guys talk about what you were looking forward to in marriage and all about your dreams to return to New England after Andrew’s Ph.D program is finished. We hope that these images will help you remember the time you spent in Virginia and get you excited for next year! Next time we have you in front of our lens, we’ll be together in Maine!
With love,
Sarah + Hunter
