When Danielle and Rod first began dating, she was living north of Charlottesville, and he was west of town in the Amherst area. Because of that, Blue Mountain Brewery was the perfect half-way point for them to meet after work on weekday evenings. They could decompress, share about their days, as the continued to get to know each other… and fall in love! The Brewery trip would typically be followed up by a drive to a nearby scenic overlook to watch the sunset. All of this made a Blue Mountain Brewery and Raven’s Roost Overlook engagement session the obvious choice for Danielle and Rod! Not only were we catching them in their natural element, but we were also recreating countless dates that they had shared early in their relationship.

When we first arrived at Blue Mountain Brewery, it was understandable that Danielle and Rod might have felt a little self-conscious. After all, there were two geared-up photographers following them around and taking pictures of them like paparazzi! But as they realized what we were asking them to do (grab a beer, sit down, chat, and have a good time), the nerves disappeared. They chatted, told stories, laughed, and enjoyed a drink as we captured some great lifestyle engagement session images! And when we transitioned to the blustery Raven’s Roost Overlook, it was the perfect dramatic foil to their more casual brewery pics.

It was so fun to see you two in your element, and to capture some fun imagery at Blue Mountain Brewery, as well as at Raven’s Roost Overlook for your engagement session! We’re so glad that you both enjoyed our time together. We always hope that our time feels more like a double-date and less like a stiff and awkward photoshoot. Although the beer to start off the session probably didn’t hurt! 😂 We can’t wait to see you both again in barely two months!
