Casual Afternoon Engagement Session at Trump Winery

We were NOT about to get rained out again. The afternoon of Sydney and Tyler’s engagement session was calling for thunderstorms to begin during golden hour, just like the first time we had scheduled their session. And because of everything going on, both our schedule and the schedules of this full-time nursing student and her EMT/firefighter fiancé were also pretty strained! So we made a unique call and did something we almost NEVER do: scheduled an engagement session outside of golden hour. Although this early-afternoon session certainly has a bit of a different feel in some photos and the sudden changes from bright sun to heavy overcast gave us an extra challenge, we still LOVE the images we were able to capture of these two!
We also had a great time getting to know Sydney and Tyler better during our time together. Our first impression of firefighter Tyler — that he was a no-nonsense tough guy — turned out to be pretty true (I mean, just look at those tats!). However, we also discovered a bit of a soft spot when it came to his girl. And Sydney turned out to be just as sweet and caring as we expected, which is unsurprising for someone who aspires to spend their life caring for the sick and vulnerable!

We are SO glad that you two entered to win a free engagement session experience with Sarah and I this winter, and that we were finally able to get together! Even if rain stopped us once, it wouldn’t keep us away forever. Even though wedding planning is a bit more stressful than usual right now, we hope that this session was a bright light and that these photos are a reminder of why you’re going through it all! We can’t wait to chat again soon ❤
