There was plenty of life on the Lawn at the University of Virginia – students were tossing frisbees or chatting on the steps of the Rotunda. Their liveliness, however, was nothing compared to the jubilation that we could see in Blake and Morgan as they approached us! Hunter and I could see the joy literally beaming from their faces throughout their session, and we could hear their excitement in every word as we discussed the quickly approaching baby!

 

As a real man’s man and a sports enthusiast, Hunter was initially worried that Blake might be a bit disappointed with his impending daughter – wishing instead that he had a son on the way. But that couldn’t be further from the truth! Blake and Morgan were both equally excited for the impending addition to their family, and were clearly still head over heels for each other as well! As they snuggled up to each other in the gardens that surround UVA’s Lawn, we were reminded of when Blake flew back from Tunisia to surprise Morgan on another garden – with an engagement ring – and the photos we took of them during their surprise proposal more than two years before.

 

Blake + Morgan,

You both have been such a blessing to us over the years, and we are overjoyed that we could return the blessing during such an exciting time in your lives! You sacrifice so much for God’s kingdom at UVA, and it is such an inspiration to see you working so hard at your ministry. We cannot wait to meet your precious little nugget this winter, and finally get to learn her name!
