Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
As we stepped out of our car at Cousiac Manor this past Saturday, we were immediately welcomed by the most perfect fall breeze. An early September wedding in Virginia can mean anything when it comes to the weather, but Carly and Grant were blessed with the most perfect early-fall afternoon. The soft overcast light made all of our afternoon photos that much dreamier, and the deep, bright sunset lent the perfect backdrop to their golden hour photos! As for the breeze rolling off the Pamunkey River, we couldn’t have asked for more.
Although the weather was great, Carly and Grant had a very different wedding than they had initially planned. The global COVID-19 Pandemic had slashed their guest list months ago, and not even their wedding party was unaffected by recent case surges around the country. Despite all of that, the wedding was still an incredible celebration of their love. From the gorgeous little details to the loving friends and family that surrounded Carly and Grant, we knew that they felt the love for each other and from their families as clearly as we could feel the breeze that day. Whether sharing an embrace after their first look or exchanging their vows by the water, they hardly took their eyes off each other the entire day.
We know that you could look back at all that was different than you were expecting on your wedding day, but we hope that these photos serve as a reminder of just how beautiful your day truly was! You two have been a joy to work with from first consultation to your oceanfront engagement session and onto your wedding day. We had a feeling that no matter what was happening in the world, and whether your guest list was 150 or 15, that you two would be getting married on September 12th. We’re so glad that our feeling was right! Here’s to a long and happy marriage!
With love,
Sarah + Hunter
