Hunter and I were sitting alone in the now-empty groom’s suite, eating dinner. We could hear the gentle music and conversation of Courtney and Max’s dinner hour. By now, this dog-lover’s wedding was in full swing. But even as we ate our own dinner, we were still listening. In case the toasts or special dances get started early without anyone telling us in advance, we were ready to jump up and resume shooting at a second’s notice. But we were pleasantly surprised when — not the DJ or wedding planner — but Courtney and Max entered the suite! They snuck out of their reception for one reason only: their pup Pixie. After a long day, an exhausted Pixie had already taken home by her dog-sitter. Courtney and Max wanted to make sure she got home safely! After they checked their doggie cam and — and were relieved to find Pixie asleep at home — they went back to dinner and enjoying their wedding festivities.

After getting to know these two dog-lovers, this was not that surprising. 😂 From their UVA engagement session (in which Pixie was a celebrity guest) to the sight of a dog bed in the getting ready suite, Courtney and Max wanted to include her as much as possible! When we got their vendor list, we saw that they hired someone to watch Pixie on the wedding day. As self-proclaimed dog-lovers, we loved seeing how Courtney and Max stayed true to themselves with their dog-lover’s wedding day.
