He knew he wanted to propose by the willow tree down by the pond, and he knew that he wanted a second surprise with all their friends waiting for them afterwards. And it was up to us and Alec to pull all of this off — without Kaylee knowing! So we put out our picnic basket and blanket and waited for Alec and Kaylee to take up position. We wondered if Kaylee would find it odd that there was a single couple picnicking in an otherwise empty field, more than a mile away from the tasting room. But if she thought something was off, it soon escaped her mind as Alec took her hands in his… and got down on one knee!

As soon as Alec told us about his plans for a surprise proposal at Trump Winery, we began getting excited for his vision!

Kaylee’s reaction was beautiful, and we were able to capture some great portraits as we explored the winery in the portrait mini-session that followed! But some of our favorite images came afterwards. We told Alec and Kaylee goodbye. Then, instead of leaving the property, we raced up to the tasting room, gathered all of their friends into position, and waited. Right on cue, a few minutes later, Alec followed us up. When he and Kaylee came around the corner, she instantly began crying again! All the tears, embraces, and laughter that followed were just as wonderful as the portraits!
