Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
For weeks, Sarah and I have been hearing about Raven’s Roost from fellow photographers and outdoor-loving friends alike. However, we didn’t quite know what to expect. We’ve done engagement sessions along skyline drive before, but never at this spot. Typically, sessions in this area involve parking the car and hiking anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes before emerging from the trees to find the prized vista. Imagine our surprise when we pulled into Raven’s Roost Overlook parking and there before us was a beautiful 180-degree vista! No hiking required!
Don’t get me wrong, we love hauling 50 pounds of camera gear up a mountain as much as anyone, but there really was something just so approachable about Raven’s Roost. Plus, we love shooting in the Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive area because we always get to drive with couples from a nearby carpool lot. This gives Sarah and I an opportunity to really get to know our couples like Elizabeth and Jason before we get them in front of our cameras. In the brief 15 minutes during our drive last week, we really got to know Elizabeth and Jason well!
You were both such a joy to get to know and to work with! We loved hearing your story and your sense of humor during our evening together. Having also dated long-distance for a while, we connected right away with your story and with the many struggles that accompany long-distance. Trust us – married life is a million times better! Sarah and I still feel honored that you chose us to do your engagement session while you visited from Pennsylvania, and we would love to see you two again and grab a bite to eat the next time you venture back down to the Shenandoah Valley!
With love,
Sarah + Hunter
