For the first time in their relationship, this photoshoot was all about them. Unlike the majority of our #HSPBrides, Ashlyn and Heath are no strangers to the professional camera! A model in her own right, Ashlyn has been featured in everything from social media campaigns and fashion catalogs to styled shoots and university brochures. More recently — when she’s been modeling mock-engagement sessions and even faux elopements — she’s brought Heath along to turn her modeling gig into a couple sport! But this Saturday evening, under beautifully soft overcast skies at the Market at Grelen’s Bloomfield location, it was finally all about them. There was no product to sell, no vendor to showcase, and no pressure to do anything other than laugh, have fun, and be in love! We think they thrived 😂

But Ashlyn and Heath were more than just great models — they were also a TON of fun! As a naturally photogenic couple who were already plenty confident and comfortable in front of the camera, we got to spend more time chatting and getting to know them and less time giving direction. We got to hear their hilarious story of how they connected during college (a friend texting the wrong Heath from Ashlyn’s phone) and more about Heath’s job as head coach of a collegiate swim team (including one very impressive Olympian). We even got to share a bit more about our own story and laughed about some of the similarities. Since they came from out of town for their session, we were so hoping to have grabbed a bite to eat with them after, but of course, very few places in Charlottesville will even seat guests right now 😫

We are so happy that we had the opportunity to connect with you two, and are thrilled with the images from your session! Even a few minutes of drizzling rain here and there couldn’t stop you two from absolutely rocking your session! Even though these few dozen images are just an extended preview of the full session, we hope that they just make you more excited for the marriage that’s to come ❤ The way you two laughed and danced (and occasionally joked on each other) taught us enough to know that you two have such a fun and joyful relationship. We can’t wait until next time!
