“Hutton, why don’t you lean in for a forehead kiss?” Hutton gave a wide grin as he gently leaned down towards his gorgeous wife and touched her forehead with his. Much to his surprise, Anna and I broke into a fit of laughter. “She meant give me a kiss on my forehead!” Anna said as she let Hutton in on our delight. Hutton, an exhausted medical resident who had worked a night shift the night before, only to drive several hours from Chapel Hill, NC that same night, laughed along with us. Once our laughter subsided, we all agreed that if the doctor thing doesn’t work out, he may want to consider a career in photography because this pose quickly became one of our favorites from this joyful, laughter filled maternity shoot!
 
As we strolled around our favorite spots in Pen Park, there were plenty of impromptu moments of laughter, a couple “dad” jokes, and so much dreaming for the new addition to their beautiful family. Anna and Hutton brought the most adorable pair of baby Sperry’s I have ever seen, and I could see the excitement in Anna’s eyes as she explained that she wanted their little miracle to have shoes just like his dad – all this baby will need is a pair of tiny khakis and he is on his way!

You were both such a joy from the moment you got out of your car to the moment we wrapped on our brief maternity photoshoot. We know how completely exhausted you both were from moving to North Carolina, starting new jobs, and being pregnant in general (except you Hutton), yet you didn’t let any of that stop you from bringing all the energy and excitement to this maternity session that we know will one day fill your home. We are so excited to watch your family grow and feel so blessed that we could capture a piece of the beginning!
