Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
Besides the fact that Sarah is extremely allergic to dogs, they’re often incredibly difficult to work with. Every dog owner knows first-hand how difficult it can be to get a dog to behave under normal circumstances, much less in a new location and surrounded by new people. So it goes without saying that we were a bit nervous about Ashley and Kyle’s engagement session with their golden retriever Bentley. And when we saw them approaching us with the biggest, fluffiest golden we had ever seen, it did nothing to settle our nerves. However, it turns out that our fears were unfounded as Bentley proved himself to truly be a “good boy”! As long as Sarah or I held his favorite ball right in front of the other’s camera, he sat stock-still and didn’t move a muscle!
Not only did we end up having a great time with Bentley, but with his puppy-parents too! Ashley and Kyle moved seamlessly from one spot to another, from one pose to another, flowing naturally into each other’s arms and never questioning our slightly ridiculous suggestions (we may or may not have climbed a fence together at one point, but who knows, really?). If they parent one day like they puppy parented last week, their home is going to be a fun-filled and loving place for years to come.
Thank you so much for inviting us into this exciting stage of your life! We had a blast connecting with you two as we let Bentley run off some of his energy, and laughing about your story and how you two reconnected. Way to be bold and take the initiative, Ashley! We wish you two the utmost joy and happiness as you move forward towards your wedding day, and hope you won’t hesitate to reach out if you ever need anything!
With love,
Hunter + Sarah
