Christian really wanted his proposal to go well. When he first reached out to Hunter and I almost a month ago, he had clearly already given a lot of thought to how he wanted to propose to his girlfriend Tara. But he was still more than eager for any help we could give him! Hunter introduced him to “A Guy’s Guide to Proposing Well” — a blog series we wrote last year all about how to pop the question — and Christian could not have been more thankful for it! He clearly did his homework, and even went out to our suggested proposal spot – Pen Park – not just once, but twice to scout out the location.

 

But of course, no matter how much our guys prepare for this colossal moment, they always tell us what Christian told us just moments after Tara said yes. “Once I went down on one knee I completely forgot everything I was going to say.” Hunter remembers that all too well from when he proposed, almost exactly three years before at that same exact park! As we walked around Pen Park with Christian and Tara in the Engagement Mini-Session that followed the surprise proposal, we got to laugh and hear more about their story as we photographed the sheer joy that they shared.

You two were beyond sweet, and we hope that these photos can serve as a joyful reminder of the day that you two officially began walking the road towards marriage.
