There’s an old photography trick that Hunter and I use sometimes to help our couples’ express their joy and excitement during photoshoots. When someone is asked to smile on command, you can see the expression on their face mostly in their cheeks and mouth. But when someone laughs, you actually the smile in their eyes. That’s why nothing beats genuine laughter and giggles during a session – and there was no shortage of that with Emily and Ethan! We didn’t have to tell a single corny joke – Emily was so full of joy and giggles during their maternity session that she had those “giggle eyes” all afternoon long!

 

But of course, that fits what we know of Emily and Ethan already. We had a chance to photograph Ethan’s entire family last winter for his parents’ 30th Anniversary session, and we knew right away that they were a family that loved to laugh together and enjoy each other’s company. As we’ve gotten to know them more through our church since then, it’s only confirmed our suspicions about how genuine and compassionate their family is.

We are so excited for the journey that lays ahead of you two, starting in just a few days! It’s hard to believe that your little baby will be here in just a week or so, and you’ll finally meet your little guy or gal! We know from plenty of friends that becoming a parent is challenging, but we know that you two are made of the kind of stuff it takes to be great parents. We wish you all the best during these final days of pregnancy, and can’t wait to see you later this month for your newborn session!
