Helping our clients feel confident and comfortable in front of our cameras has been our number one priority since our very first portrait session. We know that if our couples FEEL good while they’re taking portraits, then they’ll LOOK good in their final images! We also know that one of the best ways to begin building those feelings of comfort and confidence even before the session is to prepare our couples well for their engagement session. That’s why we send a copy of our Engagement Session Style Guide in the mail to each and every one of our wedding couples before their session. And as you can see by Kalene’s professionally-blown out hair and her and Reid’s stunning outfits, they certainly took the style tips to heart!

 

When they arrived for their session, they were already excited to get started. Of course, they had the advantage of having been in front of our cameras once before when Reid popped the question earlier this year, but we don’t expect them to remember anything on a day so overwhelming and exciting as they day they got engaged. But as we explored Raven’s Roost Overlook with them, transitioning from trees to grassy outcropping and finally to the famous rocky overlook itself, they were both so full of smiles and laughter that we knew we had done our job well.

Thank you so much for allowing Sarah and I to be a part of your journey! Between your proposal, our coffee date this fall, and now your breathtaking engagement session last week, we already feel like we’ve made two new friends here in Charlottesville. And of course, since you’re moving into a house right up the street from us, we’ll be neighbors soon too! We hope that these photos will be a treasure that you two hold dearly this winter, and know that even more beautiful images are coming this Spring! We cannot wait for your wedding at Grelen next March! But until then, we’ll see you around the neighborhood 🙂
