Peter and Josie had the perfect low-key, Fall afternoon proposal at Chiswell Winery. When I arrived on property, they were sitting in big adirondack chairs, a glass of wine in hand, admiring the beautiful mountain views. After a few minutes, Peter stood up, took Josie’s hand in his own, and casually walked toward our pre-arranged spot. Almost as soon as Peter got down on one knee, Josie threw her arms around his neck in an embrace. They kissed, he got to his feet, and they kissed again as Peter picked Josie up in a whole-body embrace!

As we chatted after the proposal, I learned that the proposal wasn’t a total surprise to Josie. But you know what was a surprise? After a handful of portraits with the two of them, I led Peter and Josie toward a courtyard on the other side of the property. As Josie rounded a corner, there were her four best friends, waiting to surprise her!! After a split-second of shock, she ran toward them and one-by-one, gave each of them a big squeeze. Not only was she over the moon to be engaged to Peter, but now she had some of her closest friends on hand to celebrate with at Chiswell!
