Hunter and I often say that we dated long-distance throughout our four years of college. However, when compared to Jess and Trung’s 600+ mile international separation, Charlottesville-to-Newport News doesn’t sound so bad anymore! Trung, a Tennessee native, is here in Charlottesville while Jess lives just outside Toronto! Clearly, the distance hasn’t been too rough on them, as they’ll be getting married this summer! As big fans of hiking and the outdoors, we knew that Raven’s Roost Overlook on the skyline drive would be the perfect spot for them!

 

Speaking of Raven’s Roost, if you’ve been following us for very long, you know that it’s a place that we shoot at somewhat frequently. It even made out list of Best Engagement Session Locations in C’ville! But our session on Monday evening was a whole new world. For starters, some recent landscaping had revealed a few new spots that we absolutely loved 😍! But even better than the spot was the light. We’ve never had such a perfect mix of overcast clouds with peeks of sunlight. You can tell in these dreamy, surreal images!

We had such a fun time getting to know you at Raven’s Roost earlier this week! Jess, despite short sleeves and a thin dress, you were SUCH a trooper in the cold and wind. That Canadian blood really came in handy! We know you won’t regret those few minutes of cold when you see these images 😊 We hope that if you two ever have any photographic needs in the future — whether here in town or up in Canada — that you won’t hesitate to ask! Our passports are ready 😉
