Meredith and Peter’s UVa garden engagement session felt like stepping into a perfect Charlottesville spring evening. We met on the Lawn in mid-April, surrounded by blooming flowers and soft golden light. The gardens were alive with flowering trees and bushes, offering bright backdrops at every turn. As we began exploring, it quickly became clear how meaningful this place was to them. Their time at UVa shaped so much of their story, and being back on Grounds together brought a sense of nostalgia and joy to the entire session. From the very beginning, their connection felt natural and easy, maybe because they had walked through these gardens so many times before!

As we wandered through the gardens, Meredith and Peter shared stories from their college years, especially their time living on Chancellor Street. They laughed as they described the daily routine they once shared, cutting through a small back alley on their walk to class. That memory stuck with us, so we made sure to end their engagement session in a way that felt personal. We walked that same path together, capturing a quiet, meaningful return to that same back alley, before stepping out onto Chancellor Street for a few final walking photos. Even though we stayed within sight of the Rotunda for most of the session, it never felt like a UVa grad shoot. The focus stayed entirely on Meredith and Peter — their chemistry, their story, and the life they’re building together, starting officially later this summer!
