Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
It took tremendous effort for Ellen and David to arrive at their wedding day on October 12th, 2019. No — we don’t mean they took a long time to literally arrive at the church or at the reception this past Saturday, but it wasn’t easy for them to get to the point in their lives where they could be married. As high school sweethearts, things started off relatively easy – seeing each other each day between classes or at lunch or after school. But when David shipped off to Marine training and Ellen headed off to college, they got their first taste of long distance. Although hard at the time, they didn’t know how good they had had it until David learned he’d be stationed in Okinawa, Japan — for two years.
But despite the odds, and thanks to a lot of persistence and long-distance phone calls, they made it. They spent much of the last five years living in different states, but are finally joined together as one. They’re married! And they sure knew how to celebrate! From the very start of the day, emotions were high and everyone was full of joy. Nearly half of Ellen’s bridesmaids were in tears when she walked out of her parents’ bedroom in her wedding gown! But by the end of the night, everyone was just ready to party. Friends and family danced the night away at the Ford’s Colony Country Club in Williamsburg, Virginia – only stepping off the dance floor to accommodate a late-night pizza delivery or to grab another drink.
It has been such a joy getting to know you two better this past year! What started over a cup of coffee last fall led to a wonderful engagement session this summer and finally a beautiful wedding day this past weekend. We had such a great time capturing each moment of your day, and of course photographing the party of the year that followed! We hope that you’re finally able to enjoy a life together (when David’s not deployed, of course) and that you won’t hesitate to call us if you ever need anything – whether in Virginia, Florida or beyond!
With love,
Sarah + Hunter
