When Emlen mentioned that she really wanted a garden engagement session, we were a little nervous about finding the perfect location this late in the year. But thanks to a great suggestion from her wedding planner, Emlen and Zach found what was probably the last garden in Virginia with flowers! We should have known they would somehow find the perfect location — just like they somehow found each other. Despite having both moved from the same area of Pennsylvania, they didn’t meet until they both moved to Virginia and started orientation for their jobs teaching at the same school!

 

Montpelier was the most perfect location for these two – when they told us that they weren’t huge fans of having their photos taken we knew they would love a location that would maximize photo opportunities, but have very few other people around, and give them some time off-camera between photo locations! Wandering around Montpelier, we were able to find the most incredible locations and get a mix of the garden and open field feel to their session.
