Gentle Summer Engagement Session at Blackrock Summit in SNP

We were just wrapping up Catherine and Kunal’s Blackrock Summit engagement session and getting ready to hike back down to our cars. Just before we left the beautiful views of the mountain for the Appalachian Trail, Catherine stopped and asked if they could take one last photo. But to our surprise, Catherine pulled an adorable Polaroid camera out of Kunal’s backpack! Apparently, she and Kunal have been taking photos of all their COVID activities (which have mostly included home projects and take-home food adventures 😂) and were excited to get a shot on the mountaintop! They even offered to do something that had never happened before during one of our engagement sessions: they took a photo of us! The polaroid is absolutely hanging on our fridge!

When you travel to a place so frequently — even a place as breathtaking as Blackrock Summit — it’s easy to forget just how beautiful it is. But we love when our couples not only want to shoot there, but also remind us of exactly how gorgeous it is. In their own gentle way, Catherine and Kunal certainly did that. At the same time, they were game for everything and anything we came up with, including a rock scramble well off the “beaten” path. When asked if they would be up for it, Catherine didn’t hesitate to kick off her shoes and declare that they were there for an adventure. We’re glad they felt that way, especially when rain started sprinkling from bright and sunny blue skies!

It was so great to meet you guys in person and spend some time getting to know you two as a couple! You guys were truly up for anything we threw at you and we are so thrilled to have a polaroid memento of our time with you both. We know that a short trip to Shenandoah won’t make up for any missed European adventures this summer, but despite everything going on, we hope that these images will still be a beacon of hope and joy as you await the start of your life together next summer. And if we don’t see you before then, July 2021 can’t come soon enough!
