When Sam and Brendan got out of their car at Boar’s Head Resort in Charlottesville, Sam immediately had one small request. Could I do one of my “famous braids” in her hair?! Surprisingly, this was the first time a bride had ever asked me! Although I am, modestly, the self-proclaimed queen of braids, it felt so funny to start our session by braiding our bride’s hair! It only took a moment, but it told us a lot about Sam and Brendan. These two are very trusting people! They were willing to share, and also trust that we would get them looking great both before and during their shoot!

Same and Brendan also brought the best accessory ever. Ready in her little bowtie, Basil was extremely well behaved for a 5-month old puppy, and it wasn’t just for the treats! She eased into photos and walked off to play with a friend when her photos were all set! This whole family were naturals in front of the camera, with their loving smiles and ready giggles. We even managed to beat the rain showers that started just as we were wrapping up the session!

It was an absolute joy getting to know you two a little better! While we’re sorry that Basil won’t make it to the wedding, we can’t wait to see you two again this fall! Your smiles are contagious, and we know these smiles will help you through engagement, on the wedding day, and in a long a happy marriage that will follow!
