Despite the fact that Pete’s isn’t exactly the typical romantic engagement session location, when Ashlee and Mike decided that they were going to fly us down to Jacksonville, FL for their engagement session, this dive immediately topped the list of must-shoot locations. Not only is Pete’s a staple of Jax Beach, but it’s also where Ashlee and Mike had their first date! However, Pete’s wasn’t the only spot that we stopped for photos on this warm December evening.

“We HAVE to be the first people to ever take engagement photos at Pete’s Bar!”

Our afternoon actually started on the oceanfront at Atlantic Beach. We photographed Ashlee and Mike as they played with their puppy, Rip, and as they played with each other! The light coming over the dunes was gorgeous, and we easily could’ve spent a full 90 minutes there. As we left the beach to head to our second location, Hunter and I couldn’t imagine leaving such a beautiful beach. But, as we walked out to the dock at the intracoastal park, we were blown away by the gorgeous sunset! The sun reflected off the water and gave off the most incredible glow. Later that night (several tacos and margaritas late), as we finally made our way to Pete’s Bar, we were thrilled with the variety! Getting to shoot in so many locations that were special to Ashlee & Mike, and having the opportunity to get creative with them was a real treat!
